UCP is offering flexible, part-time positions as in-home caregivers. In this position, you will be paired with a family in Orange County to care for a child with special needs. This is a great opportunity for people looking for a second job, or students who need a source of income. Our team will coordinate with you on the schedule and work with your schedule. Because you will be developing a close bond with your assigned family, we highly encourage those looking for long-term employment to apply for this opening. This is a direct-hire position.
As a Caregiver, you will be part of UCP's Respite Program, which provides respite visits to thousands of children, teens, and adults every year. Our Respite Program provides specialized childcare to parents of children with special needs, giving their parents or family members a chance to go grocery shopping, go to work, or take a brief, well-deserved break. Respite visits are conducted in the client's homes, and you will be provided with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment to conduct services safely.
Your primary duties are to supervise and be a companion to the person you are assisting. Some of your day to day responsibilities may include:
-Preparation of light meals
-Administers medication per parent instruction
-Transportation to extra-curricular activities.
While UCP is headquartered in Irvine (zip code 92620), you will try to pair you with a family in your city. If we are unable to do so, we do pay for mileage.
This position offers many opportunities for growth and professional development. UCP often conducts staff trainings to help our Caregivers hone their skills in childcare. Furthermore, you may have the ability to shadow staff at our clinical center in Irvine or volunteer with UCP's administrative and philanthropy departments.
